ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Buffalo, I relocated to New York City to pursue a career in architecture and design. Currently, I'm finishing my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology with minors in History of Art, Italian Studies, and Ethics & Sustainability.

Throughout my education, I've studied various elements within and related to the design field, including home products, lighting design, and conservation. Additionally, I've concentrated on multicultural studies, having had the opportunity to study art and architecture in Rome, sustainable interior design in Florence, and Spanish language in Santiago de Compostela. I've also made it a priority to learn and explore other major cities, museums, and cultural landscapes across seven different European countries over the past two yearsThese experiences have expanded my worldview immensely, deepening my understanding of the relationship between identity, design, and place.

My interest in historic preservation flourished while attending Columbia University's Historic Preservation Summer Intensive, which introduced me to preservation research, problems, and solutions. Afterwards, I had an incredible experience interning with Jablonski Building Conservation, assisting with on-site treatments, laboratory work, and documentation.

My long-term goal is to work in the thoughtful renovation, restoration, and reuse of existing spaces. I want to design thoughtful and purposeful spaces that preserve a place's history, character, and identity.

Q & A

WHAT INSPIRES ME?

Each place I travel has its own story, expressed through its architecture, culture, and the lives of those who inhabit it. I've found New York City to be one of the best examples of this. Being constantly surrounded by the juxtaposition of historic buildings and contemporary development has shaped the way I think about the built environment. It makes me consider how generations of people have influenced the places they live, and in turn, how those places continue to shape the people who experience them.

TRAVEL

In the summer of 2025, I began my international travels with a three-week faculty-led study abroad program in Rome focused on art and architecture. While there, I explored other Italian cities, including Naples, Florence, Venice, and Milan, immersing myself in the study of antiquity, the Renaissance, and the works of the great masters. Afterward, I traveled north to Switzerland, spending time in Bern and the mountain villages of Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen, where I was able to hike, slow down, and experience a completely different landscape.

The following January, I returned to Italy for my second study abroad experience, this time spending the entire spring semester in Florence. At Florence University of the Arts, I studied sustainable interior design, with the completion of a project centered on the adaptive reuse of a historic building within the city. Living in Florence allowed me to experience everyday life in one of the world's most historically significant cities while continuing to explore Europe whenever I could.

During the semester, I spent two weeks in France, visiting Paris, Versailles, Rouen, Bordeaux, and Lyon. I also traveled to Kraków, Poland, to celebrate Easter and experience traditions I grew up with in their authentic setting before continuing to Poznań to learn more about my family's heritage. Later in the semester, I visited Istanbul, where the blend of European and Asian cultures, layered history, and remarkable architecture made it one of the most fascinating places I've ever been.

With the semester ending in May, I continued west into Spain for my third study abroad program. Before classes began, I explored Barcelona, Valencia, and Seville, quickly falling in love with the country's architecture, urbanism, and culture, from the Catalan Modernisme to Moorish influence. I then completed a stretch of the Camino de Santiago, walking 127 kilometers from Baiona to Santiago de Compostela, where I would be spending the next eight weeks studying A1 and A2 Spanish through an immersive language program at the University of Santiago de Compostela. Learning the language while living in Galicia gave me an even greater appreciation for the region's culture, traditions, and everyday life.

As of July 2026, I am still in Spain! I'm currently exploring more of Galicia while making trips throughout Portugal, including Lisbon, Fátima, and Porto. My final stop before returning to New York will be Madrid in August, bringing to a close an unforgettable year of travel, learning, and cultural exploration.
